As one of the newly established chapters of the United States Veterans Chamber of Commerce, the Jacksonville Veterans Chamber of Commerce (JaxVCC) is dedicated to the same mission as our national overhead. We are committed to assisting veteran-owned small businesses/special-disabled veteran-owned small businesses with increasing sustainability and scaling to be competitive within today’s economy. Currently veterans make up more than 21.2 million of the nation’s population with 2.4 million veteran-owned businesses that employ over 5.8 million people. Florida is the third largest veteran-populated state consisting of more than 1.44 million veterans. With several military bases in Northeast Florida, there are many veterans and their families looking for one place to help with resources and assistance. The mission of the Jacksonville Veterans Chamber of Commerce is to be that hub and to holistically enrich the lives of our nations transitioning military, veterans, and their families.
The JaxVCC is determined to assist our veterans and their families during and beyond the pandemic. Through collaborative local, state, and national partnerships we will empower our transitioning men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces with the necessary tools to thrive within today’s business economy. Programming will be consistent with our five pillars of support: Business, Employment, Education, Wellness, and Family. Ultimately, the JaxVCC’s goal is to implement a strategic plan to increase workforce development, entrepreneurial education, and military-to-business transition in support of long-term prosperity within the Northeast Florida/Southeast Georgia area.
Demika Jackson, President of the Jacksonville Veterans Chamber of Commerce, led the launch of this Northeast Florida chapter. Our diverse Board of Directors are dedicated and ready to serve our veteran community.
